Community ServiceCommunity Service Work Crew serves Klickitat County.The work crew does work for City and County agencies, and non- profit groups.These hours the juvenile perform are Court ordered by the Judge as Community Service, or Court cost, or fine that are converted to Community Service hours. Diversion Community Service hours are also completed on the Work Crew. During the summer months the juveniles work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7am to 3pm. Winter months while the juveniles are in school, the Crew works Saturdays from 7am to 3pm. In 2001, 145 juveniles worked on the Crew completing 5772 hours for Klickitat County. These juveniles learn to work as a team, learn work ethics and the feeling of completion when a job is done. They also learn a variety of skills that they may take with them as they mature to adulthood. |
