WIC Program Information

WIC is a free nutritional program that provides assessment, counseling and supplemental foods based on the nutritional needs of pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants and children up to five years of age. Qualifying for the program is based on income/ size of family and nutritional or medical need.

WIC helps give pregnant and breastfeeding moms, infants and children a healthy start with:
  • Healthy food each month: milk, eggs, cereal, cheese, dried beans, juice, peanut butter and baby foods for infants who aren't breastfed
  • Nutrition and breastfeeding tips
  • Growth and weight checks
  • Help with referral to Family Planning, Immunizations and other health services


WIC reduces health care costs and infant mortality, low birthweight and premature births.

YOU MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR WIC AND NOT KNOW IT

April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012 WIC Income Guidelines per month*:
  • Family of 2 earning up to $2,392
  • Family of 3 earning up to $3,011
  • Family of 4 earning up to $3,631
  • Family of 5 earning up to $4,251
  • Family of 6 earning up to $4,871

* A pregnant woman counts as 2 *
